Mobile App Maintenance and Support
App maintenance keeps a live Android or iOS app working, compliant and secure after launch. ConvertriX monitors crashes, updates the app for new OS versions and store policy changes, upgrades payment and push SDKs, and fixes bugs on an agreed response time. We support apps we built and apps inherited from other developers.
Overview
About our app maintenance & support service
An app that is not maintained slowly stops working, even if nobody touches the code. Google Play raises its target API level requirement every year, and apps that fall behind are hidden from new users on recent Android versions and eventually blocked from updates. Apple changes its SDK requirements, privacy rules and review guidelines with each iOS release. Payment SDKs such as Razorpay, push services such as Firebase Cloud Messaging and APNs, and map and login libraries all deprecate old versions. Each of these can break checkout, notifications or sign-in without warning.
Our maintenance work starts with visibility. We connect Firebase Crashlytics, Play Console vitals and App Store Connect analytics, then review crash rates, ANRs, slow startup and failed payments on a regular schedule. Problems are fixed in priority order, with anything that blocks orders, payments or login treated as urgent. Because Indian users run a wide spread of Android devices, many issues show up only on certain manufacturers or older phones, so we test fixes on a device list that matches your real user base rather than one emulator.
Many businesses come to us with an app built by a freelancer or agency that is no longer available. We begin with a code and infrastructure audit covering build setup, signing keys, store account access, dependencies, security and data handling, then document what we find before taking over releases. Ongoing support also covers compliance work that is easy to miss, such as updating the Play data safety form and App Store privacy labels when features change, and keeping personal data practices in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What's included
Everything in scope, written down
Crash and performance monitoring
Crashlytics, Play Console vitals and App Store Connect reviewed on a schedule, with crash, ANR and slow-startup issues logged and prioritised.
Bug fixes on agreed response times
A defined process for reporting issues, with faster handling for anything that blocks orders, payments or sign-in.
OS and store compliance updates
Target API level upgrades for Google Play, new Xcode and iOS SDK builds for Apple, and fixes for policy changes before deadlines.
SDK and dependency upgrades
Planned upgrades for payment, push, maps, login and analytics SDKs, plus Flutter or React Native version updates, tested before release.
Security patches
Dependency vulnerability checks, API key and token reviews, and fixes for insecure storage or outdated encryption.
Release management
Building, signing, staged rollouts and store submissions handled for both platforms, with release notes for every version.
Backend and server upkeep
Monitoring of APIs, databases and hosting, with backups, SSL renewals and scaling checks for the services the app depends on.
Small enhancements
Minor feature changes and UI tweaks within an agreed monthly allowance, with larger work scoped and quoted separately.
Process
How the project runs
- 1
Onboarding and audit
We take over access to code, store accounts, signing keys and hosting, then audit the app and record risks in a written report.
- 2
Stabilise
The most serious crashes, security gaps and compliance issues are fixed first, so the app is on solid ground before routine work starts.
- 3
Set up monitoring
Crash reporting, uptime checks and alerts are configured so issues reach us before customers report them.
- 4
Monthly maintenance cycle
A regular cycle of bug fixes, dependency upgrades and small enhancements, released through staged rollouts.
- 5
Report and plan ahead
A monthly summary of stability, fixes and upcoming store or OS deadlines, so changes are planned rather than rushed.

Pricing
How this is priced
App maintenance is usually priced as a monthly plan, with the scope agreed upfront. The main cost drivers are the number of platforms and apps, the size and age of the codebase, how much backend and hosting we manage, required response times, and the monthly allowance for enhancements. Inherited apps need an initial audit, which is quoted separately. After a call and a look at your app, we send a fixed-scope plan.

App Maintenance & Support: common questions
Why does an app need maintenance if nothing is broken?
Because the platforms around it keep changing. Google Play requires apps to target recent Android API levels every year, Apple updates its SDK and privacy requirements, and payment and push SDKs retire old versions. An app left untouched can be hidden from new users, blocked from publishing updates or lose features like checkout and notifications. Regular maintenance handles these changes before they cause outages.
Can you maintain an app that another developer built?
Yes. We start with an audit of the code, build setup, store accounts, signing keys, hosting and third-party services, and document what we find. If the source code or signing key is missing, we tell you plainly what that means and how to recover. Once access is in place, we stabilise the app and take over releases on a regular maintenance cycle.
How quickly do you respond to app issues?
Response times are agreed in your maintenance plan and depend on severity. Issues that stop customers from ordering, paying or logging in are treated as urgent and worked on first. Minor bugs and cosmetic issues are grouped into the regular release cycle. Fixes that need a store update also depend on review time, which is usually quick on Google Play and can take longer on the App Store.
Does maintenance include new features?
Small changes are included within an agreed monthly allowance, such as copy updates, minor UI tweaks or adding a field to a form. Larger work, like a new module, a payment method or a redesign, is scoped and quoted separately so maintenance hours are not consumed by a project. This keeps routine upkeep predictable while still giving you room to improve the app.
