Custom Software Development for Growing Indian Businesses
ConvertriX builds custom business software for companies that have outgrown spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups and off-the-shelf tools that almost fit. We map how your teams actually work, ship a usable first module early, and connect it to Tally, your ERP or your CRM so data is entered once and trusted everywhere.
Overview
About our custom software development service
Most custom software projects start with a spreadsheet that has become the real system of record. Orders, approvals, stock and payments live in shared files, and every month someone reconciles them by hand. Custom software replaces that with a single application where each role sees the screens it needs, every change is logged, and reports come from the same data the team works in, not from a copy made last Friday.
Build versus buy is the first question we answer, and sometimes the honest answer is buy. If a configured SaaS product covers most of your process at a sensible licence cost, we will tell you. Custom earns its cost when your workflow is your advantage: unusual approval chains, dealer hierarchies, job-card costing, or per-seat licence fees that stop making sense as headcount grows. You own the code and the data, and change requests are not stuck behind someone else's roadmap.
As a custom software development company in India, we design for Indian operating realities from day one. That means GST-ready documents, Tally sync through its XML interface or ODBC where there is no API, bilingual labels where staff need them, and hosting in the AWS Mumbai region when data residency matters to your auditors or customers. Delivery is staged, so module one is in daily use while later modules are still being built.
What's included
Everything in scope, written down
Process mapping and scoping
Workshops with the people who do the work, producing a written module list, user roles and integration map before any code is written.
Role-based web application
A secure browser-based system with permissions per role, so a store clerk, a manager and an accountant each see only what they need.
Approval workflows and audit trails
Configurable approval chains with timestamps on every action, so disputes and internal audits are answered from the record.
Reports and dashboards
Operational reports and summary dashboards built from live data, with exports to Excel and PDF for anyone who still needs them.
Integrations with your existing stack
Connections to Tally, Zoho, payment gateways, SMS and WhatsApp, scoped inside the build rather than sold as extras later.
Data migration
Cleaning and importing records from spreadsheets or a legacy tool, with a reconciliation check before the old system is retired.
Training and handover
Hands-on sessions for each user group, plus admin documentation so your team is not dependent on us for routine changes.
Process
How the project runs
- 1
Discovery and build-vs-buy check
We document the current process, test it against off-the-shelf options, and agree whether a custom build is justified.
- 2
Clickable prototype
Key screens are prototyped in Figma and walked through with real users, so layout and field changes happen before development.
- 3
First module in production
The highest-value module is built, tested and released for daily use, giving early feedback on real data.
- 4
Remaining modules in sequence
Further modules ship in short cycles, each with its own testing pass and sign-off from the department that owns it.
- 5
Go-live and hypercare
We migrate final data, retire the old spreadsheets and stay close during the first weeks of full use to fix issues fast.

Pricing
How this is priced
Custom software is quoted per project because cost follows scope. The main drivers are the number of modules and user roles, how many existing systems need integrating, how much data must be migrated and cleaned, and whether mobile apps or offline use are included. Hosting and third-party API usage are listed separately so running costs stay visible. After a scoping call we send a fixed-scope quote, broken down by phase, so you approve each stage knowing exactly what it covers.

Custom Software Development: common questions
When does custom software make more sense than an off-the-shelf tool?
Custom makes sense when your process is a genuine advantage or when off-the-shelf tools force costly workarounds. Typical signs are approvals that live in WhatsApp, data copied between three tools, or licence fees rising with every new hire. If a configured SaaS product fits most of your workflow, buying is usually cheaper and faster, and we will recommend that during scoping rather than sell you a build you do not need.
How long does it take to build custom business software?
A focused internal tool usually ships in a few weeks, while a multi-department system runs across several months. We stage delivery so the first module is in production early and later modules follow in sequence. The calendar is driven less by coding and more by decisions: agreeing fields and approval rules, gathering sample data, and getting sign-off from each department that owns a module.
Can the software connect to Tally and handle GST?
Yes. We sync with Tally through its XML interface, ODBC or scheduled imports, depending on how your installation is set up, and push vouchers and masters without double entry. Invoices can carry HSN or SAC codes with correct CGST, SGST and IGST treatment, and GST rules are kept in configuration so rate or format changes do not require a new release of the software.
Who owns the code once the project is finished?
You own the source code, the database and the deployment credentials from go-live. Everything is handed over in a repository under your account, with technical documentation, so another developer or your in-house team can maintain it. There is no licence fee to keep using the software. Ongoing support from us is optional and scoped separately, either per change request or as a monthly maintenance arrangement.
