Website Redesign Without Losing Your Search Traffic

ConvertriX redesigns outdated or underperforming websites for Indian businesses while protecting the search rankings and traffic they already earn. We audit what works, fix speed and mobile problems, rebuild structure and design around how customers decide, and manage the migration with full 301 redirect mapping and post-launch monitoring in Search Console.

Overview

About our website redesign service

Most redesign requests start with a feeling that the site looks dated. The more useful reasons are usually measurable: pages that load slowly on mobile, poor Core Web Vitals scores, a bounce rate that keeps rising, enquiry forms that rarely get used, or a CMS so fragile that nobody wants to touch it. We begin every redesign with an audit of analytics, Search Console, speed and content, so the new site fixes the problems that actually cost you enquiries rather than just changing colours.

The biggest risk in a redesign is losing search traffic. When URLs change, pages are merged or removed, or titles and internal links disappear, rankings built over years can drop within weeks. We prevent that by crawling the old site, identifying pages that earn traffic and backlinks, and mapping every old URL to its closest new equivalent with 301 redirects. Titles, meta descriptions, headings, structured data and internal links are carried over or improved deliberately, not left to chance during the rebuild.

The new design is built mobile-first, because that is where most Indian visitors arrive, and tested on low and mid-range Android phones on mobile data. We simplify navigation, rewrite unclear service pages, add visible call, WhatsApp and enquiry options, and move to a lighter stack, whether a lean WordPress theme or Next.js, so pages stay fast. After launch we watch Search Console, crawl errors and analytics closely for several weeks and fix issues before they affect rankings.

Process

How the project runs

  1. 1

    Audit and benchmarks

We record current traffic, rankings, speed and conversions so the new site can be measured against a clear baseline.

  2. 2

    Strategy and sitemap

The content inventory becomes a new sitemap and redirect plan, agreed with you before design starts.

  3. 3

    Design and content

Mobile and desktop designs are created and key pages are rewritten, reviewed on your own devices.

  4. 4

    Build on staging

The new site is developed on a protected staging URL, with redirects, tracking and SEO elements tested before launch.

  5. 5

    Launch and monitor

We switch over, submit the new sitemap, monitor Search Console and analytics closely, and resolve issues fast.

Pricing

How this is priced

Website redesigns are quoted per project because effort depends on the size and condition of the existing site. The main cost drivers are the number of pages and templates, how much content needs rewriting, platform change such as moving off a page builder, multilingual versions, integrations, and the complexity of the redirect and migration plan. A large site with years of blog content needs more migration work. After an audit call we send a fixed-scope quote.

FAQ

Website Redesign: common questions

Will redesigning our website affect our Google rankings?

A redesign should not hurt rankings if the migration is handled properly. Rankings drop when URLs change without redirects, ranking pages are deleted, or titles and internal links are lost. We crawl the old site, map every URL with 301 redirects, preserve or improve on-page SEO, and monitor Search Console after launch. A short period of fluctuation is normal, but well-planned redesigns typically hold or improve visibility.

How much does a website redesign cost in India?

Redesign cost depends mainly on the size and condition of your current site. Refreshing a ten-page site on the same platform needs far less work than rebuilding a large site with years of blog posts, a platform change and new language versions. Page count, rewriting needs, migration complexity and integrations move the figure most. We audit first and then share a fixed-scope quote based on what the site actually needs.

How do we know if our website needs a redesign or just fixes?

You may only need fixes if the structure and platform are sound but a few pages are slow or unclear. A redesign is usually justified when the site fails on mobile, the CMS is hard to edit, Core Web Vitals are poor across most pages, or the content no longer reflects what you sell. Our audit tells you which applies, and we will recommend targeted fixes if those are enough.

Can we keep our existing content and domain?

Yes. Your domain stays the same, and existing content is kept, improved or merged based on the content inventory. Pages that earn traffic or backlinks are preserved with the same or redirected URLs. Outdated or thin pages may be combined into stronger ones. You approve the content plan before build starts, so nothing important is removed without your agreement.
