Frequently asked questions
How much does custom software development cost in India?
Custom software is quoted per project rather than price-listed, because cost tracks scope: the number of user roles and modules, how many existing systems it has to integrate with, whether mobile apps are included, and how much data must be migrated off your current spreadsheets or legacy tool. As a rough market reference, a single-purpose internal tool in India usually sits in the low lakhs while multi-module operational systems run considerably higher. We quote after a scoping call, not before.
How long does it take to build custom business software?
Most builds run in stages rather than one long block: roughly one to two weeks mapping your current process, then a working first module you can use in production, then the remaining modules released in sequence. A focused internal tool typically ships in a few weeks, a multi-department system across several months. Staging it this way means you get value from module one instead of waiting for a full launch.
Can the software integrate with Tally, our existing ERP or CRM?
Yes, and integration is scoped inside the build rather than sold as an add-on. Where a vendor exposes a documented API we connect directly; where it does not, we use scheduled import and export or database-level sync. Tally, an existing ERP or CRM, payment gateways, WhatsApp Business API and SMS are the common ones. We audit what your current stack actually allows during scoping, so integration limits surface before any code is written.
Does the software handle GST, e-invoicing and other Indian statutory requirements?
Yes, where your workflow needs it. That typically covers GST invoicing with HSN and SAC codes, correct CGST, SGST and IGST treatment, GSTR-ready exports, e-invoice and e-way bill generation for businesses above the applicable turnover thresholds, TDS deduction, and statutory registers on the payroll side. Statutory rules change often, so we build these as configurable rules rather than hard-coded logic.
Who owns the code, and what support do we get after launch?
You own the source code, the database and the deployment credentials, handed over with technical documentation at go-live, so there is no vendor lock-in. Post-launch support usually covers defect fixes, user training, hosting and uptime monitoring for an agreed period after go-live. New modules and enhancements after that are scoped separately, either per change or under a maintenance retainer.
