SaaS Product Development, from MVP to Paying Customers
ConvertriX builds SaaS products for founders and for businesses turning an internal tool into something they can sell. We scope a lean MVP around the problem customers will pay to solve, build it on a multi-tenant architecture with subscription billing, and host it on AWS so you can onboard customers, measure usage and iterate without a rebuild.
Overview
About our saas product development service
A SaaS product is not just a web application with a login. It needs tenant isolation so one customer can never see another's data, plans and limits that the billing system enforces, onboarding that works without a sales call, and admin tools for your own team to support customers. Getting these foundations right early is far cheaper than retrofitting them after the first hundred accounts, which is why we design the tenancy model, permission system and billing hooks before building feature screens.
The biggest risk in SaaS is building too much before anyone pays. We push hard on MVP scope: the one workflow that delivers the core value, the integrations customers will refuse to live without, and nothing else. That often means saying no to a dashboard, a mobile app or a second user type in version one. If an existing no-code tool or white-label product would let you validate demand faster, we will suggest it, and build custom once the market has answered.
For Indian SaaS, billing and compliance details matter from the start. Subscriptions run through Razorpay or Stripe with UPI AutoPay or card mandates, GST invoices are issued automatically with the right place-of-supply treatment, and export invoices handle foreign customers. Personal data is managed in line with the DPDP Act 2023, and hosting in the AWS Mumbai region suits customers who ask where their data lives. For global buyers we add region choice, SSO and audit logs when they become deal requirements.

Process
How the project runs
- 1
Problem and customer validation
We review your target customer, competing tools and early conversations to agree what the MVP must prove.
- 2
Scope and architecture
The MVP feature set, tenancy model, billing plans and hosting approach are fixed in a written spec.
- 3
Design and prototype
Core flows are designed in Figma and clicked through with a handful of prospective customers.
- 4
MVP build in short cycles
Features ship to a staging environment every week or two, so you see progress and can reprioritise early.
- 5
Launch and onboarding
Production launch with billing live, onboarding emails and analytics, followed by fixes from the first real users.
- 6
Iterate on usage data
Activation and retention data guide the next releases, rather than the longest feature request list.

Pricing
How this is priced
SaaS builds are quoted per phase, usually starting with the MVP. The main cost drivers are the number of core workflows, user roles and plans, billing complexity such as usage-based pricing, third-party integrations, and whether mobile apps are part of launch. Hosting, email, payment gateway and analytics fees are paid to those providers and listed separately. After a call about your product and target customer, we send a fixed-scope quote for the MVP.

SaaS Product Development: common questions
What should be included in a SaaS MVP?
A SaaS MVP should include the one workflow customers will pay for, sign-up and onboarding, basic team management, and working billing. It should leave out anything that does not test whether people will pay, such as advanced reporting, extra user types or a mobile app. Keeping billing in the MVP matters, because a free product tells you little about whether the business will work.
How do you keep each customer's data separate in a multi-tenant SaaS?
Every record is tied to a tenant, and access is enforced at the database and API layers, not just hidden in the interface. Depending on your customers we use a shared schema with row-level security, a schema per tenant, or a separate database for larger accounts. Automated tests check that one tenant cannot read another's data, and the approach is documented for customer security reviews.
Can the SaaS bill Indian and international customers?
Yes. Indian customers can pay through Razorpay with UPI AutoPay, cards or net banking, and receive GST invoices with the correct CGST, SGST or IGST split. International customers can pay through Stripe in their currency, with export invoices issued under the applicable GST treatment. Plans, trials, proration on upgrades and failed-payment retries are handled automatically, and your CA should confirm the tax setup.
Do we own the code and the product?
Yes. The source code, infrastructure and customer data sit in accounts you own, such as your GitHub organisation and AWS account, from the first release. That matters for investor due diligence and for any future sale of the business. We can continue as your development partner after launch, or hand over to an in-house team with documentation and a transition period.
