Web Development
Custom Web Applications Built Around How You Work
ConvertriX builds custom web applications for Indian businesses that need more than a website: customer portals, dealer ordering systems, booking engines and internal dashboards. Each app runs in the browser on any phone or laptop, takes UPI and card payments through Razorpay, generates GST-ready documents, and connects to the tools you already use.
Overview
About our custom web application development service
A web application is software your customers, partners or staff log into. Unlike a marketing website, it stores data, enforces rules and changes what each user sees based on who they are. Typical examples we build include dealer and distributor ordering portals, appointment and slot booking systems, student or patient portals, quotation tools for sales teams, and admin dashboards that pull figures from several systems into one view.
Because it runs in the browser, a web app reaches every user without an app store download, which matters when your users are dealers in tier-2 towns or field staff on entry-level Android phones. We design for that reality: light pages that work on slow connections, OTP login over SMS or WhatsApp instead of forgotten passwords, and forms that save progress so a dropped network does not lose ten minutes of data entry. Where offline use is genuinely needed, we can build it as a progressive web app.
Indian business rules are handled inside the application rather than bolted on. Payments run through Razorpay, PayU or Cashfree with UPI, cards and net banking, and reconciliation webhooks update order status automatically. Invoices and receipts carry GSTIN, HSN or SAC codes and the correct CGST, SGST or IGST split. Data can sync with Tally, Zoho or an existing ERP, and hosting sits in the AWS Mumbai region when your customers or auditors expect data to stay in India.
What's included
Everything in scope, written down
Requirements and user-role mapping
A written specification of user types, permissions, screens and business rules, agreed before development begins.
UX design and prototype
Clickable Figma prototypes of the main flows, tested with a few real users so confusing steps are fixed on screen, not in code.
Secure authentication
OTP, email or SSO login, role-based access control, session management and audit logs for sensitive actions.
Payments and invoicing
Razorpay, PayU or Cashfree integration with UPI, refunds and webhooks, plus GST-compliant invoices and receipts generated as PDF.
Integrations
Connections to Tally, CRM, ERP, SMS, email and WhatsApp Business API through documented APIs or scheduled data exchange.
Admin dashboard and reports
Back-office screens for managing users, orders and content, with filterable reports and Excel export.
Testing and security review
Automated tests on core logic, manual testing on low-end Android devices, and checks against common OWASP vulnerabilities.
Process
How the project runs
- 1
Discovery and scoping
We study the current process, the people involved and the systems in play, then agree a module list and a first release.
- 2
Prototype and validation
Key screens are prototyped and walked through with users, so flows and fields are settled before engineering starts.
- 3
Iterative development
Features are built in short cycles with a staging link you can test, so progress is visible and feedback lands early.
- 4
Integration and data migration
Payment, accounting and messaging integrations are connected and tested, and existing records are imported and reconciled.
- 5
Launch and support window
We deploy to production, monitor errors and performance closely in the first weeks, and hand over documentation and code.

Pricing
How this is priced
Web applications are priced per project because effort follows complexity. The biggest drivers are the number of user roles and screens, the business rules each workflow must enforce, integrations with payment gateways, Tally, ERP or WhatsApp, and how much existing data has to be migrated. Real-time features, offline support and high security requirements add effort. Cloud hosting and third-party fees are listed separately. After a scoping call we send a fixed-scope, phase-wise quote.

Custom Web Application Development: common questions
What is the difference between a website and a web application?
A website mainly presents information, while a web application lets users log in, enter data and complete tasks. A company website explains your services; a web app lets a dealer place an order, a patient book a slot or a manager approve a request. Web apps need databases, user permissions and business logic, which is why they are scoped and tested more like software than like marketing pages.
How much does custom web application development cost in India?
The cost depends on scope rather than a standard rate. A single-purpose booking tool with one user role needs far less work than a multi-role dealer portal with payments, Tally sync and approval chains. User roles, number of screens, integrations, data migration and security needs drive the figure. We scope the application with you first and then share a fixed-scope quote, broken into phases you approve one at a time.
Should we build a web application or a mobile app?
Start with a web application if users need access from both phones and laptops, or if you want to avoid app store friction. Web apps are cheaper to update and reach everyone through one link. A native mobile app makes sense when you need heavy offline use, background location, camera-intensive features or frequent push engagement. Many clients launch as a web app or PWA first and add native apps once usage justifies it.
Is our data secure, and where is it hosted?
Yes, security is designed in from the first sprint. We use encrypted connections, hashed credentials, role-based permissions, audit logs and regular dependency updates, and we test against common OWASP risks. Payment card data stays with the gateway and never touches your server. Hosting is usually in the AWS Mumbai region on an account in your name, which keeps data in India and gives you direct control.
